It was an honor to speak at the Council on Foreign Relations' Religion and Foreign Policy Workshop about sustaining bipartisan support for religious engagement. Great discussion with colleagues Peter Mandaville, Melissa Rogers, and Samah Alrayyes Norquist on maintaining U.S. leadership in the wake of USAID cuts and the freeze on U.S. assistance. I emphasized the need to restore USAID and unlock funding so that humanitarian assistance and religious freedom advocacy can resume as soon as possible.
