Grimké Lecture: World of Hurt, Word of Hope

If Christians became vocal advocates for their own and the religious freedoms of everyone everywhere, it could bring new energy and momentum to the cause. It would open doors to demonstrate God's love to a hurting world in their moment of need. It is up to us to pray and act for the "least of these."

I was privileged to deliver the Grimké Lecture at the Edmiston Center in Atlanta about creating a Christian theology promoting inclusive religious freedom. Looking at examples throughout the scriptures, especially the Parable of the Good Samaritan, I argue that inclusive religious freedom has the church standing up for all who are persecuted, irrespective of their beliefs. I am grateful to Karen Ellis and Reformed Theological Seminary for extending the invitation and for spending a day engaged in insightful discussions.

You can listen to the entirety of my 45-minute lecture here.
